Hi! I’m Lana, a San Diego-based copywriter, editor and blogger.
I was born and raised in Russia, and I moved to the States at the age of 20, on my own.
I guess I always had a bug up my ass to go into unexplored terrains and see what’s out there.
I never wanted an ordinary life. I never wanted an ordinary 9-5 job.
I wanted to be my own boss, to be creative, to love what I do, to make money with ease and joy, to travel, and also to have a way of helping people. That’s important! You need higher purpose, otherwise it’s just marking time.
This, along with my love of writing, led me to blogging.
I’ve had successes, I’ve had failures. Failures were harder, but they taught me more.
I now manage 3 blogs of my own, and make a living from the comfort of my home, or anywhere with the internet connection.
This blog is where I share everything I learned on my journey in a simple and honest fashion.
More than anything, I want to share my mistakes, setbacks and struggles because I think that’s most essential for a newbie blogger. I will also include practical advice on writing, editing, marketing, and actually making money online. From time to time I will also sprinkle in personal tidbits, just because it’s my blog, and I want it to be personal to me. But the overarching theme is taking charge of your financial destiny.

- When I’m not blogging, I’m earning a doctorate in psychology (Class of 2023!)
- I am a former night owl mom of a 3-year old who insists on waking up at 6 am
- I especially welcome opportunities to work and create with other women
- I love animals and study people
- I’ve attended UFO conferences, Qigong conventions and ayahuasca retreats
- I’ve never been to Japan but my favorite film is “Lost in Translation”
- Um… it’s actually “Bridget Jones’s Diary”
- I regularly offer support to women in difficult family situations via my blog “Toxic Ties”
- I appreciate dry wit and I try to find humor in every situation
- My ideal vacation is staying at an elephant retreat in Thailand
- I love crime mysteries, psychological thrillers, and, regrettably, reality TV
- I’m not religious but in my intuitive understanding of reality we’re all one and there is no death.
